A Comprehensive Guide to Integrating Tidio with Messenger for Enhanced Customer Engagement

See all the possibilities that Facebook Messenger integration offers. The Tidio account can be connected to multiple Facebook pages to manage incoming Messenger messages in one place.

Integrating Tidio with Messenger

If you want to integrate your Tidio account(s) with Facebook Messenger, go to Settings > Channels > Facebook Messenger in the Tidio panel, and click on the blue Connect your Facebook Account button.

Now you will see a window showing the integration steps. Log on to your Facebook account and select the pages you want to integrate with Tidio.

In addition, you will be asked about your Facebook page permission. All permissions are required for the integration to work correctly.

In the next step, you will see a message that confirms that the Facebook page is linked to Tidio. Click OK, and in the next window, save the changes to confirm the integration.

That’s all! Your Facebook account has been integrated with Tidio! If there is a problem connecting Tidio to your Facebook account, please try our troubleshooting at the end of this article.

Answer to Messenger Chats at Tidio

Start managing all important communication channels in a single place using the Tidio panel, and reduce the number of open tabs in the browser.

If you want to verify that your Facebook account has been successfully integrated with Tidio, go to your Facebook page (from a personal account, a separate account, or a friend’s account) and click on the Message button to start a conversation or find a company in a messenger chat.

Send a message like a normal Messenger user, and you will see a new notification in the Tidio panel. Open a chat, and Messenger will be selected as the default channel.

Creating Messenger Bots

To create a bot for a Facebook page, you will need to use the Bot Launcher. The Bots Launcher tool is located in the Chatbots section. Open the Welcome message tab below the Bots Launcher to access it.

By clicking on the text window, you can edit and adjust the automated message sent by the bot and customize it according to your needs. In addition, you can keep or delete the dancing bot’s gif.

If you want to add another text or image, click on the blue Add button in the circle below the gif.

Custom buttons: Messenger bot

In addition, you can add custom bots by clicking on the add bot button. If you click on this button, you will enter the bot’s visual editor, which automatically adds a Visitor clicks the bot button trigger.

If you want to add the name of the button that will appear in Messenger’s bot, click the trigger icon and edit it.

Let’s see an example. The visitor clicks the bot button to trigger the bot so that when someone clicks on the start button inside the Messenger window, the visitor will see the bot with the decision buttons. The visitor will now be able to select the bot to trigger next.

When a visitor clicks on the Learn More button, a bot created by us will appear (when the visitor clicks the bot button).

Troubleshooting

if you see an error message: Facebook API cannot be loaded – please try integrating Tidio with Facebook on Chrome because this is a common problem in Firefox.

If you still see this error, follow the following steps:

  1. Go to Facebook > Settings & Privacy > Privacy Center > Facebook > Facebook settings > Business Integration
  2. Remove Tidio from this list.
  3. Reauthorise the integration of Messenger in Tidio again.
